Career & Technical Education
Teachers who bring “real life” experiences into the classroom are consistently among the most successful educators in a variety of areas, including STEM occupational areas, business, marketing, and health occupations. Classrooms funded through Career and Technical Education (CTE) offer an opportunity for professionals from business and industry to teach in a middle or high school in an area where they have occupational experience and expertise.
Multiple pathways to obtain a CTE teaching certificate are offered including:
- College/University Route (teaching degree and industry experience required)
- Business & Industry Route (occupational hours required in lieu of degree)
Contact your local CTE Director for guidance navigating this pathway and potential teaching opportunities in your local district.
